Fly Alaska Seaplanes
Alaska Seaplanes needed a website that could perform in the real world: fast on mobile, clear in low-bandwidth conditions, easy to manage, and built around the way travelers actually search, compare, and book flights across Southeast Alaska.
Serving communities, visitors, businesses, and remote destinations throughout Southeast Alaska, Alaska Seaplanes plays an important role in connecting people to places that are often difficult to reach by road. Their website needed to reflect that same sense of dependability while making it easier for users to take action quickly.
Cascade partnered with Alaska Seaplanes to redesign and rebuild the site on Evergreen CMS, creating a modern digital experience focused on speed, clarity, accessibility, and long-term flexibility.
Early Goals & Objectives
From the beginning, the project was shaped around a clear set of priorities: improve the mobile experience, make booking easier, create clearer paths to core services, and build a platform that could scale as the airline’s needs evolved.
The site needed to prioritize four primary user pathways: Book a Flight, Charters, Cargo, and Tours. These actions became the foundation for the site structure, helping users quickly understand where to go and what to do next.
Performance was also a major consideration. Many customers check schedules, routes, or booking information while traveling through areas with limited service. That meant the homepage needed to be lightweight, fast-loading, and immediately useful, especially on mobile devices.
A Faster, Clearer Booking Journey
One of the primary goals was to reduce friction between browsing and booking. Travelers needed a clearer path from researching a destination or service to finding the right flight option.
To support that goal, Cascade integrated TakeFlite, the airline’s reservation and scheduling platform, into the website experience. The integration helps users search routes, review flight options, and move into the booking process with more confidence.

TakeFlite Integration
Travelers can search routes, view availability, and begin the booking process through a seamless connection with Alaska Seaplanes’ reservation system.
Simplifying Schedule Management in Evergreen CMS
Flight schedules change often, so the site needed to do more than display information. It needed to make that information easier to manage, update, and reuse across the website.
Using Evergreen CMS, Cascade created a more streamlined schedule management experience. The Alaska Seaplanes team can now update routes, flight times, seasonal changes, and service details more efficiently without relying on complex workflows or developer support for routine updates.
This made the schedule process more dynamic, accessible, and SEO-friendly while also giving the team greater control over one of the most important parts of the customer experience.

Evergreen CMS Schedule Management
Evergreen CMS gives the Alaska Seaplanes team greater control over route schedules and service information, making updates faster, easier, and more reliable.
Designed for Real Travel Conditions
The homepage was designed to be fast, direct, and action-oriented. Rather than asking users to sort through heavy visuals or complicated navigation, the new experience brings the most important actions forward immediately.
Subpages were designed to provide more room for storytelling, imagery, and service-specific content. This approach keeps the homepage focused on speed and clarity while allowing destination, charter, cargo, and tour pages to build trust and communicate the full value of the Alaska Seaplanes experience.
Built for Accessibility, Trust, and Long-Term Growth
The redesign also addressed important accessibility and usability improvements, including stronger contrast, clearer page structure, more consistent headings, better labeling, and a more intuitive navigation experience.
Behind the scenes, the site was built with flexible Evergreen CMS components, structured content areas, and a performance-minded front end. This gives the team a stable foundation for future updates, new services, marketing needs, and continued growth.
The Result
The new Alaska Seaplanes website is more than a visual refresh. It is a faster, clearer, and more useful digital platform built around the realities of Southeast Alaska travel.
Travelers get a more intuitive path to booking, clearer access to key services, and a mobile-first experience that performs in real-world conditions. Staff get a more flexible CMS, easier schedule management, and a site that can continue growing with the organization.
