Accessibility Statement

At Cascade, we believe the web is better for everyone when it’s built to be accessible to everyone. We are committed to ensuring that our site and the code we build are usable for everybody, regardless of ability.

Developing elements, pages, and sites that strongly consider and aspire to exceed Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 is important to us.

We recognize that this intent comes with evolving challenges. How to code in ways that meet these guidelines changes with technology and can occasionally conflict with other considerations, including visual design and available resources. We are also continually evolving our knowledge of the best and most helpful development practices.

Our Accessibility Efforts

We’re proud of the accessibility-focused efforts on our own site, which are ongoing, with the goal of making our website accessible to everyone. Some of the accessibility features we’ve built include:

  • Helpful alternative text for images that are not solely decorative
  • Accurate and semantic page structures, including a proper hierarchy of headings (h1, h2, etc.) and the use of landmarks
  • Full keyboard navigability and screen-reader accessibility
  • ARIA attributes to provide additional context for visitors using assistive technology
  • Properly labeled form fields

Ongoing Commitment

We view our site’s accessibility as an important, ongoing effort. We welcome feedback and suggestions to help improve accessibility for all visitors.
