While it's not quite the
Heartbleed Bug, the
Bash Bug is a thing that wouldn't hurt to know about. It's actually pretty bad, but cascade web//development's servers are patched up as of yesterday afternoon -- are yours?
Below are some quick, need-to-know facts about the Bash Bug:
- Bash is a core command line component of unix based systems. It's what you see/use when you open Terminal on your Mac to ping, whois, etc.
- A vulnerability was recently discovered that could allow relatively easy exploitation of bash in a way that would give an attacker control of vulnerable systems.
- Cascade servers were successfully tested, patched and tested again by yesterday afternoon.
