What's the last movie you saw in a theater?
Being a college student really puts a dent on my ability to pay $20 (movie, plus a Coke slurpee and Sour Patch Kids, of course), but I think the last movie I saw in theaters was the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.
What were your dream aspirations as a kid?
When I was three I had a dream of being a dentist, but that ended when I was 11 and realized my fear and nausea of blood after seeing someone’s tooth knocked out. The amount of blood made me think I was going to taste my peanut butter and banana sandwich again. Besides that, I have always wanted to be a mom.
If you could be any superhero, who would it be?
It is a dead tie between Catwoman and Aquaman simply because of my love of cats and mermaids. So I guess I would have to say Aqua Cat.
If you could take a free trip to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
It is hard to choose, but I would really want to see the three places of my heritage – Scandinavia, Italy and Germany. My main focus on this adventure would be consuming as much food as possible, and hike everywhere I could.
Have you ever been in a fight? If so, who started it?
I have never been in a physical fight - thank God - because I do not think I would last too long. I have green beans for arms. I have been in my fair share of 13- to 17-year-old lame verbal “you’re not my friend anymore, but then make up in a week” girl fights. I can proudly say I defended myself well.
What's your favorite Portland restaurant?
My appetite is way too big to choose from all the wonderful places to eat in Portland, but currently I have been craving the fried green tomatoes and the mac and cheese at The Screen Door.
Name your biggest fear
Spiders. If I could destroy and end something forever it would be spiders.
Did you have a nickname growing up?
When my mom gave me the name Alexa, she dreamed that everyone would call me Lexi. It didn’t really work out. Besides that my parents did have their pet names for me, like Honey Love Bug and Cindy Lou Who, of which I am still often called.
What attracted you to Cascade?
I heard positive things about Cascade for more than a year before I started working here. I've known the McKinleys for a long time. Ultimately what led me to wanting to intern at Cascade was the opportunity to learn real-life skills that I could use later on in life, and the great work environment presented by the CWD team.
