Evergreen Evolution

We’re constantly evolving our Evergreen Content Management System (CMS), as client needs and requests arise. When we make an upgrade, all of our clients benefit because it’s on a shared code base.

Like most upgrades we make to EG, recent adjustments improve the intuitive nature of the EG administrator user experience.

We’ve been so focused on executing upgrades, that we’ve neglected to let our users know they exist! We hope to use this blog as an outlet for information on upgrades, and encourage existing and interested users to check it out to see the latest and greatest in EG. Below are some cool upgrades that we deployed in March.

Pages Positioning

We’ve evolved the positioning of Pages to improve ease-of-use. When an administrator creates a new page, it is now automatically added to the end of its specified section. Order on the front-end of the website can be adjusted through a simple drag-and-drop function, viewable in a listing screen that separates pages by section. Below is an example.

Table Organization

Tables in EG are now rendered using a function that makes them sortable by default. Tables are resorted in ascending or descending with a simple click of the header cell. Further sorting is possible simply by holding shift key and clicking a second header cell. In sum, a admin now has the capability to organize with additional levels of sorting. For example, an admin can now sort by company, then last name, then first name, etc. Below is an example, showing the organization of a Contact List table.

Like most functions in EG – this feature is flexible, and where clients specify – may be disabled in favor of manual, draggable reordering of items.
