Banking

Community Banking, Modern Web

Founded in 2006 and now the 13th-largest bank headquartered in Oregon, Lewis & Clark Bank serves entrepreneurs from Portland Metro to the coast. By 2023, its website no longer mirrored the bank’s growth or brand polish. Marketing leaders wanted clearer customer journeys, stronger ADA compliance, and a design refresh—without sinking resources into a ground-up rebuild.

Strategy & Planning

Cascade kicked off with deep discovery: user-story mapping for key paths such as “Open an SBA loan,” finalized site architecture, and functional specs for third-party integrations (online banking, mortgage tools, branch locators). The deliverables became a roadmap that balanced flexibility with clear milestones.

Design Approach

Rather than commissioning pixel-perfect mock-ups for every breakpoint, the team chose a premium pre-designed front-end framework—cutting load times, guaranteeing mobile responsiveness, and preserving budget for other priorities. A concise style-guide update aligned logo usage, refreshed the color palette, and refined typography.

Development & Launch

Developers built dynamic modules in Evergreen—rates tables, product sliders, newsroom posts—then applied the framework’s CSS for a cohesive, on-brand look. Content collection ran in parallel, and exhaustive QA ensured WCAG alignment across desktop and mobile. After CMS training, the new site went live ahead of schedule, followed by close post-launch support.

Impact
  • Faster mobile experience — site scores jumped into the 90s on mobile Lighthouse tests.
  • Simplified edits — non-technical staff now swap hero images or update rates in seconds.
  • Future-proof foundation — modular blocks and a living backlog of phase-two features (interactive loan calculators, deeper analytics) keep the roadmap clear.

“I felt like I was in good hands from start to finish. The excitement was high all the way through and I am proud of the end result. Thank you.”
