Cascade Web Development is thrilled to announce the latest updates to our Evergreen platform, bringing a host of improvements designed to enhance user experience. Ben, Simon, and Stephen sat down to discuss these exciting changes.
Here's what new! 👇
The first improvement users will notice is a more flexible sign-in process. According to Stephen, “We’ve made it possible to sign in using either your username or email address. It’s a small but significant change.” This update was implemented in response to frequent support requests from users who encountered login issues after resetting their passwords.
Another key update addresses the issue of users accidentally making changes on the staging site instead of the live site. To prevent this, Stephen explains, “We've added a big, bold red notification at the top of the screen that clearly indicates when you're working on the staging site and not the production site.” This simple but effective visual cue aims to reduce errors and enhance clarity for users.
In addition to these functional improvements, the platform’s interface has undergone a significant visual refresh. Stephen notes, “Our goal with this update was to remove unnecessary elements so users can focus solely on their content.” The result is a cleaner, lighter design that enhances usability. For those who prefer a different aesthetic, the update also introduces a dark mode option.
The update also includes improvements in module management. The new “module groups” feature allows users to organize their modules into collapsible groups, making it easier to navigate and manage extensive lists. This change is designed to improve efficiency, particularly for users with large and complex websites.
To make the asset manager more accessible, it has been relocated to the top navigation bar. This adjustment reflects feedback from users who found the previous location at the bottom of the module list inconvenient.
The rollout for these updates is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 28th, starting with staging environments, followed by a full production rollout after testing and feedback. Stephen assures users, “We’ve been testing these changes internally for a while, and we’re confident they’ll go smoothly.”
As always, Cascade Web Development values user feedback. Simon emphasizes, “Every site we build is unique, and we value your input as it helps us continue to improve Evergreen.” Users are encouraged to share their thoughts on these new updates, as their feedback plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the platform. With these updates, Cascade Web Development continues its commitment to providing powerful, user-friendly tools for managing web solutions. Stay tuned for the rollout, and don’t hesitate to reach out with your feedback. Please send your feedback to simon@cascadewebdev.com.
